Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, patron of The Royal College of Midwives (RCM), has arrived at Rotherham Hospital's maternity unit.

The Princess Royal will speak to midwives, maternity support workers and new mothers during today's visit.

Midwives will show her the great work they are doing to provide even better services for women and their families, the hospital said.

The unit is also in the running for midwifery service of the year in RCM awards, while midwife Emma Carver is shortlisted for midwives' midwife of the year.
