A NEW video has been released showing how Rotherham’s biggest “Meccano set” was pieced together at Wentworth Woodhouse.
The new clip from project managers Woodhead Group shows huge beams of scaffolding being lifted into place on the roof of the mansion by a towering crane, while a time-lapse video of the big build has been updated to include the completed roof.
You can also see stunning drone footage of the Big House from above and take a sneak peek at the walkways used in rooftop tours which are now underway to give visitors the chance to see the roof restoration under way.
The scaffolding rig and temporary roof now in place includes more than 700 tonnes of scaffolding reaching up to 30 metres from the ground and costing £1.2 million to supply and erect.
