A PUBLIC footpath has been temporarily closed by the council due to high winds and unsafe trees.

A spokeswoman for the council said: "Following yesterday’s high winds we've temporarily closed a public footpath in Rawmarsh close to Collier Brook, near Kilnhurst Road, due to unsafe trees.

Storm Ali swept across parts of the British Isles, bringing winds of up to 100mph. A yellow warning, meaning "be aware", is in place for Rotherham for today, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday as Storm Bronagh hits England and Wales bringing with it a combination of rain and squally winds.
