A firefighter tackles the grass fire at Kimberworth
A GRASS blaze on open land overlooking Meadowhall was arson, the fire service has said.

Crews attended a site on the hillside at Kimberworth — close to the M1 — shortly before 6pm yesterday (Tuesday).
Crews from at least three fire engines put out the blaze — covering about 100sq metres — with hoses and beaters.

They were at the scene for more than three hours and police were called to help with managing traffic.
A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue confirmed that the incident had been recorded as deliberate.
