VIDEO: Emergency services called to Dinnington college campus after students fall ill

EMERGENCY services have been called to Rotherham College’s Dinnington campus after several students reported feeling ill.

The campus is closed to visitors and a Hazardous Area Response Team has been sent to investigate.

A college spokeswoman said: “A small group of learners have felt simultaneously ill, reporting minor symptoms, and very careful precautions are being taken by the emergency services, who are with and assessing the learners at present.”

A spokeswoman added: “The campus is currently closed as a precautionary measure and everyone is being asked to stay in their current location until we find out more.

“We are not aware of any risks to anyone else at this time.”

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said it had sent three fire engines to the campus and crews are working with South Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team to work out what the cause was.
