SUPPORTERS turned out in high numbers at the opening of a village’s new sports centre.
The £500,000 Thurcroft Hub has replaced the rundown pavilion on New Orchard Lane.
It was mostly paid for through Thurcroft Big Local, a Big Lottery partnership which will see £1 million spent over ten years.
Mark Arthur, Yorkshire County Cricket Club chief executive, cut the ribbon on March 10.
Cath McCartan, Thurcroft Big Local steering group member, said: "I’m ecstatic. To see this place filled today is brilliant. I’m so proud of everyone who has come here today and who’s got involved.”
