VIDEO: Children flee as 'dangerous' Rotherham motorist drives car onto pavement

A DANGEROUS motorist has been caught on camera appearing to attempt to run over children on the pavement.

The shocking clip was captured by a camera at a house in Henley Way, Masbrough.

Police said a woman had been arrested but have appealed for witnesses to the incident, especially anyone with dash camera footage.

A spokeswoman said: “A 44-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following an incident on in Rotherham on August 7.

“It is reported that at around 3pm a black car was seen to be waiting at the top of the road (Henley Rise)

“It then drove towards a group of children on Henley Way. 

“The driver beckoned to the children to come to her but they refused.

“The car then drove towards the children who ran out of the way.

“It (the car) then hit the kerb of the pavement and drove away. Nobody was injured during the incident.”

Anyone with information or dash-cam footage is asked to call 101 quoting incident 541 of August 7.
