Video: CCTV footage released after town centre stabbing

DETECTIVES investigating last week's stabbing in Rotherham town centre have released CCTV footage of three people they want to identify as part of their enquiries.

Officers were called to All Saints' Square at around 10.15pm last Wednesday following a report that an 18-year-old man had been stabbed.

On arrival, they discovered an 18-year-old woman had also been assaulted and robbed, said a police spokeswoman.

Police have now released CCTV footage and said they believe those shown on the clip could hold vital information about what happened that night.

"They are believed to be in their teens and mixed race," added the spokeswoman.

"They were all wearing either grey or dark-coloured clothing."

The spokeswoman said the injured man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his abdomen and was now recovering at home.

"The woman did not require medical treatment," she added.

The spokeswoman said they were aware that there were a number of people in the area at the time who might have seen something.

If you can help police with their enquiries, call 101, quoting incident number 1225 of March 31.
