Vehicle and rubbish fires in Swallownest and Canklow

A VEHICLE and a pile of rubbish was targeted by arsonists in Swallownest and Canklow overnight. 

A crew from Rotherham station attended a rubbish fire in Gray Avenue, Swallownest, at 9.35pm.

"The crew came away at 9.35pm and the cause of the fire was deliberate," a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

The crew was later called to Rother Terrace, Canklow, at 4am where a vehicle was set alight.

"The cause of the fire was deliberate and the crew left the scene at 4.25am," the spokeswoman added.
