Vandals target debt advice team

DUNKIRK spirit helped Rotherham’s Citizens Advice Bureau volunteers to carry on after vandals targetted their HQ.

Fifteen debt advice appointments had to be cancelled after wreckers smashed windows of the CAB offices in Wellgate.

The team had to clear broken glass from their desks and interview rooms and the windows had to be boarded up before they could resume the service.

A member of the CAB team said: “We’re assuming a Dunkirk spirit and trying to work around the mess.”

CAB finance officer Kay Shemeld said the attack had been a “huge setback.”
