Van torched in Catcliffe arson attack

A VAN was set alight in an arson attack in Catcliffe on Saturday night.

Firefighters from Parkway station were called to the scene on Orgreave Road at 9.05pm, where a Mercedes Sprinter had been deliberately set alight, and left the scene at 9.31pm, a spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

Fly-tipped fridges were set alight on Lidget Lane, Thurncoe, at around 8.45pm last night, the spokesperson added.

Firefighters from Dearne station were called to the scene.
