A VAN caught fire outside a primary school last night.
Firefighters were called to the burning Ford Transit on Flanderwell Lane — next to Bramley Sunnyside Infant School— at 6.25pm.
Staff from Rotherham station put out the blaze using hose reels, leaving the scene at 7.05pm.
Linda Butcher sent the Advertiser this photograph, which shows the vehicle well alight. It appears to be a work van, in Virgin Media livery.
A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the fire had started accidentally.
Firefighters from Maltby station attended a refuse blaze on nearby Elder Drive, Sunnyside, from 8pm until around 8.30pm.
The fire is thought to have been started deliberately.
