Update: Woman (48) seriously hurt in Parkgate collision

A SERIOUSLY-injured motorist was trapped in her vehicle after two cars collided in Parkgate.

Fire crews from Rotherham and Dearne stations were called out to the incident at a on Cornish Way in Parkgate at 5.45am.

A fire service spokesperson said: “Two cars were involved in the incident and one person was trapped. Crews left the scene at 8am.”

Police said a black Vauxhall Corsa and blue Peugeot 2008 had been involved in the collision.

The 48-year-old driver of the Corsa, who was trapped, was freed by firefighters and taken to the Northern General Hospital with serious injuries, a spokeswoman said.
