Update: Murder investigation launched after injured Thurnscoe man dies

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man who was found with serious injuries inside a house in Thurnscoe last week, died in hospital on Sunday.

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man who was found with serious injuries inside a house in Thurnscoe last week, died in hospital yesterday.

The 46-year-old man was found by paramedics with critical injuries in a property on Monsal Street at 4.40pm onThursday. 

He died yesterday afternoon, said a police spokeswoman.

 "His family has been notified and are receiving support from specially trained officers," she added.

"Detectives are now treating the incident as a murder investigation and continue to appeal for information about the circumstances surrounding how the man came to be injured."

Two men, aged 31 and 41, were arrested on suspicion of assault and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
