Unpaid work sentence for town centre knife man

A MAN who was found with a kitchen knife in public has been ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.

Aaron Farrell (37) of Katherine Street, Rotherham, admitted possession of a bladed article at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

He was found with a kitchen knife on Drummond Street, Rotherham.

Mr Peter Large, mitigating, said Farrell had not confronted any members of the public with the knife.

Chair of the Bench, Mr Stephen Bellamy, gave Farrell a 12-month community order, which included a requirement to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.

Farrell was also ordered to pay £170 costs.
