Unattended fire spread to fence and trees

AN UNATTENDED fire got out of control and spread to fencing and trees at East Dene early this morning (Monday).

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue was called to Cranworth Road shortly before 1.20am.

A spokesperson said: “Upon arrival, firefighters found a controlled burn that had grown out of control, having been left unattended.

“This had spread to a nearby fence and trees. This was dealt with by 1.49am.”

A four-wheel drive BMW was deliverately set alight at Woodland Drive, North Anston, just after 1am.

Firefighters from Aston Park station were art the scene for an hour.

A mattress and rubbish were set alight in a garden at Albert Road in Goldthorpe shortly before 7.55pm yesterday.
