Two quizzed after police find cannabis farm in Mexborough attic

POLICE raiding a house in Mexborough on Monday found a cannabis farm in the attic.

Officers from the Operation Fortify team executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act, at a house on Milton Road, a police spokeswoman said.

They found 12 large cannabis plants in the attic room which were seized.

A man (30) and a woman (28) were interviewed and released under investigation, said the spokeswoman.

Detective Inspector Steve Smith, who leads the Fortify team, said: "We are continuing to work hard to show the local community that organised crime will not be tolerated.”

Anyone with concerns about crime in their area should call 101 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
