Two men in court for Parkgate petrol station kidnap

Gareth Slater (32), of Kilnhurst Road, and Craig Berridge (38), of Grange Road, both attended Sheffield Magistrates’ Court this week.

Berridge appeared last Saturday, charged with several offences.

These were kidnapping, grievous bodily harm, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, possession of an air weapon, dangerous driving, possession of a bladed article and driving without insurance.

Slater appeared before magistrates on Monday, charged with kidnapping, grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.

Neither man entered pleas, before magistrates referred their cases to Sheffield Crown Court.

Both men were arrested in connection with an attack on a 39-year-old man at a petrol station on Stadium Way, Parkgate, last Thursday.

Magistrates remanded the men into custody, to appear again at the higher court on Monday, July 30.
