Two men charged with alleged firearm offences

TWO men have appeared in court charged with firearms offences after shots were allegedly fired at a car in Rawmarsh on Sunday.

Kyle Stephenson (32), of Ash View, Greasbrough, appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court yesterday (Wednesday) charged with possession of a pump action shotgun.

He has been remanded into custody and will appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday, January 30.

Nathan Smedley (27), of Ingshead Avenue, Rawmarsh, appeared before magistrates today (Thursday) charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Smedley has also been remanded into custody and will appear before crown court on January 31.

A police spokeswoman said the charges related to reports of shots being fired towards a stationary vehicle in Ash Grove, Rawmarsh, on Sunday, December 30.

No-one was injured in the alleged incident.
