Two men arrested over Maltby assault

TWO men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Maltby which has left a man in a critical condition.

Police were called to a property on Novello Street on Monday at 9.30am, following reports that a man had been assaulted.

The 59-year-old victim was taken to hospital in Rotherham, where he remained in a serious condition yesterday.

"On Wednesday afternoon two men, aged 30 and 32, were arrested on suspicion of assault," police said. "The two men still remain in custody today (Thursday)".

Officers are continuing to appeal for information about the incident.
