Two men arrested after Swallownest stabbing

TWO men have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Swallownest.

The incident happened outside Del’s convenience store in Swallownest at around 8pm on Sunday. An 18-year-old man was treated at hospital for suspected slash wounds to his hands and leg.

A second stabbing occurred less than a mile away at around 8.15pm at McColl’s convenience store in Aston. Police were called to reports of a disturbance in the car park.

It is reported that a group of men with their faces covered approached two parked cars and assaulted a 21-year-old man, before leaving the scene. 

The man was taken to hospital, where he was treated for suspected stab injuries to his arm and ribs, police said. 

Both of the men have been released from hospital.

Police are treating the incidents as connected. 

Two men, aged 18 and 20, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding and robbery in connection with both incidents. The men have been bailed as enquiries continue.
