Two men arrested after 'large machete' found in stolen car

TWO men have been arrested after eagle-eyed officers found a large machete in a "suspicious-looking vehicle" in Wath - which was found to be stolen.

TWO men have been arrested after eagle-eyed officers found a large machete in a "suspicious-looking vehicle" in Wath - which was found to be stolen.

Officers from the Rotherham North Neighbourhood Policing Team arrested two men, aged 39 and 44, after discovering the stolen car yesterday (Tuesday).

The men were arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.

"Both have been interviewed and released under investigation whilst [the] investigation continues," the team said in a tweet.
