Two killed after car crashes into bridge in Maltby

TWO men were killed after the car they were travelling in crashed into a bridge in Maltby.

A red Citroen C1 was travelling along the A631 Tickhill Road towards Tickhill at around 8.40pm on Friday when its driver failed to negotiate a right-hand bend.

The car then mounted the pavement and crashed into a bridge parapet.

The driver — a 40-year-old man — and a 27-year-old man who was a passenger in the car — were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe there were a number of people at the scene who saw the crash and officers want to speak to them.
