Two injured in Dalton collision

A MOTORIST and a passenger were treated for minor injuries after being involved in a collision in Dalton last night (Sunday).

Police were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on Doncaster Road, close to the junction with Arundel Avenue, at around 8.50pm, a police spokeswoman said.

"The driver of one of the vehicles suffered a minor injury and has been treated in hospital," she said.

"A passenger from the other vehicle was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

"Both vehicles have now been recovered an investigation is ongoing."

Firefighters from Rotherham station were called to the scene at 8.50pm and left around 20 minutes later, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 886 of April 28.
