Two in court accused of attacking disabled OAP

A 24-year-old man and a teenage girl have been charged with robbing a disabled man in Mexborough.

The 68-year-old victim withdrew cash from a town centre bank before going to the precinct on John Street last Tuesday.

At about 11.15am he was approached by two suspects, who took the money he had taken out.

Adam Seward, of Rowms Lane in Swinton, was remanded in custody after appearing at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court last Thursday (3).

The 16-year-old girl was bailed and both will appear at Doncaster Crown Court on Friday .

Det Con Gareth Jessup said: “This was a targeted attack on a vulnerable man.

“We take incidents like this very seriously and want to reassure the public that we will continue to do everything possible to stop this kind of behaviour.”
