Two hurt in Thurcroft fire

TWO people have been hospitalised after firefighters pulled them unconscious from their burning Thurcroft house.

The man and woman, who are both in their 50s, were transferred by ambulance after they were rescued from the house on Peter Street at around 2am today.

Three crews from Rotherham, Aston and Maltby fire stations responded to the house fire, which started in a chip pan.

The kitchen was fire damaged and the rest of the house smoke-logged, a fire service spokesman said.

Crews left the scene shortly before 3.30am.
