POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two men were left fighting for their lives following a crash in Treeton on Sunday in which ten people were injured.

The men, aged 21 and 22, received head injuries described as "life-threatening" when the silver Vauxhall Corsa they were travelling in was in collision with a Nissan Terrano carrying six children and two adults at 3.30pm.

The driver of the Nissan, a 35-year-old woman, suffered a fractured ankle in the crash and the front-seat passenger, a 59-year-old man received injuries to his neck and back.

The children, aged between four and 17, suffered minor injuries.

South Yorkshire Police said the collision happened on Wood Lane, in Treeton, about 0.75 miles from the junction with Pleasley Road.
