Two deliberate scrubland fires in Wath overnight

SCRUBLAND was set alight in two different areas in Wath last night (Thursday) within the space of half an hour.

The first fire was in Station Road at 8.30pm which a crew from Dearne station tackled for more than an hour.

Firefighters from Cudworth station were called to Biscay Way at 9pm and were at the scene for 20 minutes.

"Both fires were deliberate," a spokeswoman from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said.
