Two convicted of supplying illegal steroids

TWO men have admitted supplying performance-enhancing drugs.

Naseer Ahmed (35), of Renishaw Avenue, Rotherham, and Nabeel Kurshid (34), of Weetwood Road, Rotherham, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday for offences relating to anabolic steroids — a class C drug.

Anabolic steroids are prescription-only medicines that are sometimes taken without medical advice to increase muscle mass and improve athletic performance.

They can only be sold by pharmacists with a prescription.

Kurshid admitted supplying anabolic steroids from his muscle and fitness supplement store Nutrition Power, on Attercliffe Road, Sheffield, in December, 2015.

He pleaded guilty on Tuesday to being the operator of a premises and making or supplying a controlled drug.

Ahmed admitted at a previous hearing to possession and possession with intent to supply class C drugs.

The case was adjourned for pre-sentence reports to be prepared for both defendants.

They are due to be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court on June 12.

Both were granted unconditional bail.
