Two cars overturn in M1 smash - but those inside suffer only 'minor injuries'

THE people inside two overturned cars involved in an M1 smash escaped with minor injuries, police said.

The two vehicles are understood to have been in a collision on the motorway in Rotherham on Saturday afternoon.

SYP Operational Support tweeted: “We dread this type of call (2 cars upside down with person's trapped)

“All emergency services rushed to scene including the air ambulance.

“Everyone was out of the vehicles and sat on the grass banking with only minor injuries when we arrived.

“Many thanks for being patient while the scene was cleared.”
