Two arrests after shooting in East Dene

POLICE have made two arrests after a man was injured in a shooting in East Dene. 

A 40 year-old injured man was taken to hospital after the incident on Alpha Road on Thursday afternoon.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Officers attended reports of a firearms discharge at 1.45pm on Thursday on Alpha Road in Rotherham. 

“A 40 year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries, believed to be non-life threatening, and has now been discharged. 

“Two men, aged 40 and 21, have been arrested on suspicion of public order offences and remain in police custody.

“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 486 of January 27.”
