Two arrested in South Yorkshire railway thefts probe

TWO men have been arrested as British Transport Police continues the fight against cable theft in South Yorkshire.

TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal railway cable in South Yorkshire.

The arrests follow recent thefts of railway cable in the Rotherham and Mexborough areas.

The men, a 19-year-old and a 33-year-old from Doncaster, held in early morning raids at their home addresses on suspicion of conspiracy to steal railway cable.

The men have been bailed until October 19 pending further enquiries.
