Two arrested after shots fired in Herringthorpe

TWO men have been arrested after shots were fired in Herringthorpe.

Police were called to the Chaucer Road area at 8.15pm on Monday evening after reports that a silver 4x4 vehicle had collided with another vehicle, before two men were seen running away.

"The collision is believed to be linked to shots being fired," said a police spokeswoman.

"Two men have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and remain in police custody.

"There have been no reported injuries following this incident."

Officers now want to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened, or anyone who may hold information which might help the investigation.
