Two arrested after shotgun found in East Herringthorpe bin

TWO men have been arrested this morning (Wednesday) after a shotgun was found in a bin in East Herringthorpe.

TWO men have been arrested this morning (Wednesday) after a shotgun was found in a bin in East Herringthorpe. 

Officers were called to Bradstone Road just after 6.30am and recovered the weapon, which was found in a bin next to the One Stop convenience store after receiving a call from a member of the public.

Det Chief Insp Martin Tate said two men from Rotherham, aged 18 and 48, have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and remained in police custody.  

"I would like to say thank you to the member of the public for calling in to let us know about the shotgun," added Mr Tate.
