Trust staff volunteer to ‘meet and greet’ patients and visitors

A selection of staff at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust (TRFT) have volunteered to take up the role of ‘meet and greeters’ in the main entrance area at Rotherham Hospital on Wednesday.

A range of TRFT staff will be taking an hour out of their busy schedules in order to personally greet and signpost patients and visitors at the hospital.  They hope to gain feedback while doing the trial to see if patients feel it is of benefit.

Jilly Bhamra, Foundation programme administrator and organiser of the ‘meet and greet’ event at the Trust said:  “Such events as these provide us with first hand contact with our patients and visitors as they arrive and also as they leave the Trust. Having a face to face conversation to help, assist and generally talk to our patients and visitors is invaluable.”
