Tributes to 'much-loved' husband killed in Parkgate collision

TRIBUTES have been paid to a “much-loved husband” who was fatally hit by a car as he walked on a major Parkgate road.

Adam Cumpsty (30), of Rotherham, died at the scene after being hit by a car on Broad Street at around 10.30pm on Friday.

Police said two vehicles were driving along Broad Street in the direction of Parkgate when one of the vehicles collided with Mr Cumpsty.

Three men were arrested following the collision. South Yorkshire Police has been contacted for an update.

Mr Cumpsty’s family said in a statement: “Adam was a much-loved husband, brother, uncle and son, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.”

His family are being supported by specially trained officers and have asked for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time

Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, has dashcam footage or who may have any information that could help their investigation.
