Trial date set for man (26) accused of Balby attempted murder

A PROVISIONAL trial date has been set for a man accused of a stabbing in Balby.

Benedict Zvekare (26), of St John's Road, Doncaster, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court via videolink this morning (Wednesday).

He faces one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of an offensive weapon in connection with a stabbing on Balby Road at 2.20pm on September 28.

A 26-year-old man was left in a critical condition and suffered stab wounds during the incident.

Zvekare is due to appear at court next Tuesday (October 13) where he will enter a plea.

A trial, which would take at least three days, has been set for May 24.

Zvekare has been remanded in custody.
