Trial date set for Chantelle murder trial

A TRIAL date has been set for the man charged with the murder of 35-year-old Darfield woman Chantelle Barnsdale-Quean.

Stephen Barnsdale-Quean, of Upperwood Road, Darfield, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday  and was remanded in custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder after Chantelle Barnsdale-Quean was found dead at a property on Upperwood Road shortly after 4.20pm on Monday, March 4.

The 42-year-old was treated for stab wounds and taken to hospital before being discharged and charged with murder.

A plea and case management hearing will take place at Sheffield Crown Court on July 26 with a trial set for September 2.
