A BOXER accused of assaulting a woman multiple times will stand trial in September.

Chad Gaynor (30), of Warreners Drive, Thrybergh, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court today (Wednesday) accused of three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of criminal damage and one of controlling and coercive behaviour.

He pleaded not guilty to all of the offences.

Gaynor, who grew up in Thrybergh, is accused of assaulting the woman on October 20, December 19 and December 22, damaging her mobile phone on October 20 and damaging her TV on Christmas Day.

He is also accused of committing controlling and coercive behaviour against the woman between June 28 and December 25.

Gaynor was released on bail and is due to stand trial on September 14.

The fighter had a gloved pro record of 15 wins and two losses before a neck injury six years ago put his career on hold.
