A TRIAL date has been provisionally set for a mother and son accused of multiple counts of attempted murder in Conisbrough.
Joe Roberts (20) and Nicola Butler (44), both of Windmill Avenue, Conisbrough, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court today (Wednesday) via videolink in connection with shootings in the town between November 7 and 9.
Barristers for both defendants indicated that their clients would plead not guilty to all of the offences.
Roberts is charged with three counts of attempted murder, three counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, arson with intent to endanger life, and violent disorder.
Butler is charged with two counts of attempted murder and two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
A trial, which will last a week, has been provisionally scheduled for September 13.
Police were called to reports of firearms discharges in the Park Road, Daylands Avenue, and March Vale Rise areas of Conisbrough between November 7 and 9.
A man (19) suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident on Daylands Avenue, a police spokeswoman said.
