TRAVEL: Tram Train route currently suspended

THE Tram Train route between Parkgate and Sheffield is currently suspended.

Stagecoach Supertram said the Tram Train was suspended due to a points failure at Parkgate.

"Whilst there is an issue with the points at Parkgate, valid tram tickets will be accepted from Rotherham interchange to Meadowhall on the X1 and X78," said a representative.

This is the second time the line has been down since its launch last Thursday. Just hours after the route was unveiled, one of the new Tram Trains was involved in a crash near Attercliffe, Sheffield.
