TRAM Trains will remain suspended until at least tomorrow (Thursday) after a bridge inspection which was due to take place today was cancelled.

Stagecoach Supertram has announced that conditions in the River Don are unsuitable for a planned underwater inspection of the tram bridge at Tinsley.

The company had planned to send divers into the Don to check the underwater structure for damage and debris and had announced that Tram Train services would remain suspended until the check.

It said the inspection would now take place tomorrow if conditions were considered safe enough for dive teams to enter.

No Tram Train services have been running to Rotherham or Parkgate since Rotherham Central station flooded at the weekend.
