Traffic moving freely after rush hour M1 fire

A MOTORWAY has been cleared after a rush hour car fire closed two southbound lanes.

Two fire engines responded to the incident between junctions 34 and 35 near Rotherham on the M1 at around 7.25am today (Tuesday).

Crews extinguished the blaze using hose reels and left the scene by 8.30am.

Southbound traffic was still slow at 9am, but appeared to be flowing freely by 9.30am.
