Town centre and village blazes started by arsonists

FIREFIGHTERS dealt with arson attacks in the town centre and a village within an hour of each other last night (Thursday).

A crew spent 20 minutes tackling a fire started deliberately among a pile of rubbish on Ship Hill at 9pm.

More debris was torched on Firbeck Lane, Laughton-en-le-Morthen,  at 10pm.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said a crew was at the scene for 50 minutes.
