A YOUNG duo renowned as one of the hottest properties in folk rock are heading for an intimate acoustic gig at a rural Rotherham venue.
Three-times finalists at the prestigious BBC Folk Awards, Gilmore and Roberts, have won major accolades blending mandolin, fiddle and guitar-playing with great original harmonies.
Katriona, from Knebworth in Hertfordshire, briefly starred with folk pop sensations Tiny Tin Lady before meeting up with home-grown Barnsley boy Jamie — brother of Folk Award winner Kathryn Roberts — at the Leeds College of Music in 2008.
Since then, the pair have played some of the UK’s biggest acoustic festivals, and toured much of mainland Europe and Canada, once sharing the stage with folk rock legends Fairport Convention.
Gilmore and Roberts appear at Letwell Village Hall on Saturday, April 29.
Doors open at 8pm.
Limited tickets are available priced £12 from Martyn Sharpe and Andy Swift on 01909 731626 or 540694.
