“Rotherham MBC has been identified as a Centre of Excellence by the Department for Transport for the way in which it administers and enforces the blue badge scheme.

“Information sharing events have been hosted by Rotherham for the Yorkshire and Humberside Region which has resulted in other Authorities taking Rotherham's lead in clamping down on this type of fraud.

“The judges were delighted to see a local authority tackling fraud in this way and Rotherham is a really worthy winner."

The winners of the award were decided by a team of judges from Disabled Motoring UK, the British Parking Association and The Lively Crew.
