The Parkgate-based brewery’s delivery service has taken off during lockdown, which comedian Paul Chuckle has largely been spending in his garden — so what better way to cheer him up than calling in with a selection of its best ales and a copy of the Rotherham Advertiser?

Chantry have been offering copies of the paper with their craft ales and have backed our #RestartingRotherham campaign, which aims to support businesses across the borough.

On being presented with his beer and last week’s Advertiser, Paul said: “This is all about the Restarting Rotherham campaign and Chantry Brewery and the Advertiser getting together.

“We have all got to get back. The Millers are doing well, and I think we are going up, but all we need now is to restart the whole of Rotherham.”

Chantry co-founder Mick Warburton said they were delighted to deliver the beer to Paul, who lives within their distribution area which takes in Rotherham and Doncaster, and added: “It was fantastic to work with the Advertiser to present the beer to Paul, a real example of businesses supporting each other and someone who means so much to so many in the town getting involved to back the Restarting Rotherham campaign.

“We all need to work together now to get Rotherham back up and running.”

Paul later tweeted a picture of himself receiving the delivery to his 162,000 followers.

Advertiser editor Andrew Mosley said: “Chantry have done some great work throughout the lockdown period and shown how businesses can and will have to work differently.

“We want to offer as much help as possible to ensure people return to work with shops and companies that have a future in the town.

“Yes, businesses are in competition, but it has never been more vital that we work together and support each other to get Rotherham restarted.
