Titans remain upbeat despite being bottom

Saturday’s 37-22 beating on home soil by Richmond keeps Key’s side rock bottom with just one losing bonus point in the bag and it won’t get any easier at Goldington Road.

But after a good week on the training paddock, Key is confident that better fortunes are around the corner.

“I’m pleased that we scored three tries against Richmond and we did exceptionally well on that level but unfortunately we’re not managing the game as we need to.

“We are putting unnecessary pressure on ourselves. We are doing a hell of a lot of work and I think we are moving in the right direction but we’ve got to stop the opposition from scoring. Do that and you have a chance of winning – we’ve scored 12 tries in the last three games so we know we’re capable of doing that but we have to make sure we stop the opposition from doing it.

“We are spending a lot of time in identifying those areas where players can improve.

“We have a really good week training and we’ll go to Bedford needing to put those things into practice.”
