Time to show you are 'Proud' of health service heroes

IT’S the time of the year again where people are being encouraged to show how “proud” they are of the borough’s healthcare heroes by nominating them for an award.

The public recognition award, chosen by you, is one of the highlights of the annual Proud awards hosted by the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.

Last year’s virtual awards saw 150 nominations.

The public recognition award gives patients and the public the chance to put forward individual staff and teams who have made a difference, provided a high-quality service and given outstanding care.

Michael Wright, deputy chief executive of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our colleagues do an exceptional job caring for the people of Rotherham every single day, but it is sometimes easy to overlook the impact individuals and teams can have on a particular patient and their family.

“We would like to hear about these experiences and give those members of staff the recognition that they deserve.

“It is as important as ever that we celebrate our colleagues and their achievements.

“In 2020, we delivered our award ceremony virtually alongside an evening of entertainment and celebrity appearances. We hope we will be able to celebrate our colleagues’ successes in person once again this year, albeit with some adaptations.”
