Tickhill burglary suspects 'chased teenagers with a chainsaw'

POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace after two boys were chased with a chainsaw following an alleged Tickhill burglary.

The 16-year-old boys disturbed a suspected burglary at a property on Wilsic Road, Tickhill, at around 10.30pm on Friday, December 28, a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said.

The burglars are believed to have been trying to break into a van.

"When they were disturbed, it is understood that the suspects chased the teenagers with a chainsaw," said the spokeswoman.

"Nobody was injured during the incident, but it has understandably caused distress to the teenagers and concern within the local community."

South Yorkshire Police believe the man pictured has information that could help the ongoing investigation and are appealing to anyone who may recognise him to get in touch.
